KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 (Xinhua) --Three Chinese men's singles shuttlers bulldozed past their opponents at the Malaysia Open here on Friday to take up three spots in the semifinals.

Leading the way, No. 4 seed Chen Long beat India's Srikanth Kidambi 21-18 ,21-19 despite the latter putting up a strong resistance.

Chen was trailing behind for the most time in the first set and almost lost his lead during the second set. He attributed it to the unpredictable winds in the stadium, but said he was satisfied of his performance after recovering from some recent injuries.

"My form and my body are in very good shape," he said.

Chen will face Indonesia's Jonatan Christie in the semifinals, who beat Viktor Axelsen of Denmark on Friday. Jonatan has beaten world No. 1 Kento Momota of Japan on Thursday.

Meanwhile, No. 2 seed Shi Yuqi claimed victory against Japanese shuttler Kenta Nishimoto 21-17, 21-16 after coming behind in both sets. He will face compatriot Lin Dan in the semifinals.

Lin revenged the defeat against Kanta Tsuneyama during the All England Open, beating the Japanese 16-21, 21-17, 21-10.

China's mixed double pair and world No. 2 Wang Yilyu and Huang Dongping upset the home fans by defeating Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying 21-19, 16-21, 27-25 after an epic duel of 83 minutes.

They will face another Malaysian pair Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing in the semifinals.

In women's singles, He Bingjiao was knocked out by Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 19-21, 21-23 but Chen Yufei advanced to the final four by beating South Korean Sung Ji Hyun 21-18, 21-14.

Chinese players also made to the semifinals of men's and women's doubles.
