BERLIN, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Borussia Dortmund recaptured the lead in the standings for now after coming from behind twice to overpower nine-man Hertha Berlin at the 26th round in Bundesliga on Saturday.

Hosts Hertha Berlin grabbed a perfect start in front of outsold home soil and opened the scoring with just four minutes when Salomon Kalou capitalized on a rebound from close range.

Dortmund responded well as Bruun Larsen tested Berlin goalkeeper Rune Jarstein in the 12th minute before Thomas Delaney restored parity with a deflected shot only two minutes later.

Larsen unleashed a dangerous shot on target in the 22nd minute but Jarstein was on guard to deny.

However, the goal was scored at the other end of the pitch as Berlin took the lead for the second time after Kalou made no mistake to convert a hand-ball play penalty in the 36th minute.

After the restart, Dortmund responded once again and leveled the scores just two minutes into the second half when Dan Axel Zagadou headed home a corner kick from Jadon Sancho.

The hosts had the chance to take the lead again but Marko Grujic rattled the woodwork from inside the box in the 56th minute.

Berlin suffered a setback in the closing period as Jordan Torunarigha received his marching orders after booking his second yellow card of the night.

The "BVB" benefitted on their numerical advantage in the dying minutes when Marco Reus tapped home Sancho's square pass to beat Jarstein into the far post corner.

Things went from bad to worse for Hertha Berlin as skipper Vedad Ibisevic saw a straight card for a violent conduct in the added time.

With the result, Borussia Dortmund move atop the standings. Hertha Berlin stay in the 10th place of the table.

Elsewhere, Struggling Schalke suffered their fourth defeat in row, as Timo Werner's sole goal of the game was enough for Leipzig.

Wolfsburg came from behind after Wout Weghorst's hat rick sealed Fortuna Dusseldorf's 5-2 defeat on the road.

Bottom side Hannover gave away a 1-0 lead to lose 3-1 to Augsburg and Stuttgart shared the spoils with Hoffenheim following a 1-1 draw.

The following fixtures complete the 26th round on Sunday: Bayer Leverkusen host Werder Bremen, Eintracht Frankfurt meet Nuremberg, and Bayern Munich see Mainz.
