ALGIERS, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Algeria and Turkey signed seven partnership agreements in various sectors, as part of the official visit of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the north African state, local official source said on Tuesday.

The signing ceremony was co-chaired in Algiers by President Erdogan and Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.

The agreements concern the sectors of energy, higher education, diplomacy, culture, tourism and agriculture, aiming at reinforcing partnership between the two nations in these domains.

Erdogan is accompanied by a group of Turkish businessmen and investors to participate in the Turkish-Algerian Business Forum which is set to be held in Algiers on Tuesday.

This Business Forum will bring together a large number of Algerian and Turkish companies and businessmen, as it aims at giving a new impetus to bilateral trade exchanges.

Erdogan is also due to hold talks with his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika later on Tuesday on bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

The visit of Erdogan to the North African nation is the second of its kind after that of Nov. 2014.
